    Our 12-Level CEFR System

We base all our results on the CEFR framework and divide each of the 6 standard CEFR levels into 2 sub-levels — giving a total of 12 precise levels. This allows us to place every student in the most accurate and appropriate program for their current ability, rather than grouping students too broadly.

    How the Process Works

Step 1 — Fill in the Form

Complete the personal information form below. Include your full name, phone number, the language you wish to be tested in and your email address. Your private test link will be sent to your email.

Step 2 — Take the Test

Open the link sent to your email and complete the placement test at your own pace. The test is designed to be taken seriously — your results directly determine which level and program you will be enrolled in.

Step 3 — Correction and Review

Our teaching team personally reviews and corrects every test. We do not rely on automatic scoring alone — each student’s answers are carefully examined to ensure the most accurate placement.

    Step 4 — Your Results

We contact you directly by phone to inform you of your result. We also send a full copy of your correction, your score and your recommended level to your email address.

Step 5 — Oral Assessment (Advanced Levels)

If your written test result places you at an advanced level (B2 or above), we conduct an additional oral assessment with one of our teachers at the academy. This ensures that your final placement is fully accurate and reflects your real speaking ability.

    About the CEFR Framework

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is the internationally recognized standard for describing language ability. It was developed by the Council of Europe and is used by language schools, universities, employers and official examination bodies across the world — including IELTS, TOEFL, DELF, TCF, Goethe-Zertifikat and DELE.

The CEFR defines language proficiency across 6 main levels:

    • A — Basic User (A1 and A2)
    • B — Independent User (B1 and B2)
    • C — Proficient User (C1 and C2)

At Elite d’Or, we divide each of these 6 levels into 2 sub-levels — creating 12 precise levels that allow for a more accurate, motivating and progressive learning journey.
